Thankful Tuesday

I am so blessed.. This past week we were able to spend an entire week at the beach and it was such a wonderful vacation that we all needed. The weather was great and the times were awesome.

- I am thankful for such a great week at the beach with my family. We were able to spend time together, laugh so hard that we had tears, and just enjoy doing the simple things in life. We were also able to throw a birthday party for our Grandnana and it was amazing. She broke down in tears of joy. It's amazing to see an amazing person get something they deserve (love you Grandnana).
- I am thankful for my Mom. She kept Izzy while we were at the beach and then drove to meet us so Jalen could finally get his puppy home. I miss her every day and wished she lived closer, but I guess that makes me appreciate all the times I get to see her. We always manage to leave each other in tears...
- I am thankful for great friends. Allison and her girls kept Dorothy for us and made sure everything here was 'normal' and nothing happened. It's so nice to have friends you can turn to in a moments notice and know they'll be there!

Our Little Fish..

We just got back from the beach and had a great time.. Jalen impressed us with his new swimming skills. He just stuck his head in and started the first time we went to the pool. Here is a little clip of him swimming like Dorothy! :) I'll post some more later...

Goodbye 3-Year-Old Preschool Class :-(

Why do I even have to post this? Why is my baby growing up to be a big boy?! I want him to stay just like this.. He did finish up preschool at the end of May (I know I'm slow with the pictures). He had a wonderful year and has grown into such a little boy over the past year. His teachers were awesome and if you know me well, I do not like to leave Jalen, but leaving him there, I knew he'd be in good hands and have a wonderful time. It was very tearful to walk out knowing he'd come back as a 4-year-old with new teachers, but I have big hopes and know that next year will be just as great.

Thankful Tuesday

* I am thankful that in just a few days we will be GONE! GONE TO THE BEACH FOR A WEEK!!! I am more than ready to get away and relax with my family. It is always a blast and I am excited to see what this year will bring.
* I am thankful my Mom is coming. I am excited to finally see her!! I have yet to decide if she'll take Izzy with her tomorrow or if I will bring Izzy down this weekend while we head to the beach. I pray Jalen takes it well either way. He's attached to his dog and unfortunately, he's had to say goodbye before and I don't want him to think that's what happening.
* I am thankful for friendship. On Saturday, Jalen and I were able to go to the pool with my friend Allison and her girls. It was a lot of fun. We were able to catch up for 3.5 hours and I was able to talk with her while they played. It was enjoyable and so nice to be around them. She's expecting and I can't wait to be an Auntie :) again!
* I am thankful Brooklyn is healthy and swimming perfectly. We'll get to see her again this week up-close and personal! She's so prettyyy!
* I am thankful school is going well and not too much for me this summer. I'll end the summer session I next week and start another session right after, so I hope this next one goes just as smoothly!

Save! Save! Save!

I've really gotten into couponing and trying to save money! Working, going to school, and raising Jalen can get very tiring, real quick, so it is nice to think I may not have to work quite as much if I try to be wise about spending. In both of these cases, it was around $60-$75 worth of groceries and I paid between $20 and $30 each time. It's nice to be able to save money while buying what you need. We have a stockpile of things!!

Look at the blog list on the side to get websites/blogs that help you maximize your savings!!

More Than Cousins...

I've always said that Ryan and Jalen will be more than cousins, they will be best friends and it is evident every day that they are together. Jalen woke up the other morning and Ryan was there and he said "Aww, my Ry-Ry is here, thank you Mommy." It made my heart melt. They run to each other and truly care about each other. Jalen tells people that is his Ry-Ry so they'll stop talking to him or he'll chase a kid if they take Ryan's shovel. It's so cute to see them together and they truly are a blessing to have. I love my lil boys!!

Thankful Tuesday

* I am thankful for my wonderful family. I am so blessed to wake up each morning to my boys and throughout the day see all of my family. I am proud to say that my family members are my best friends and I wouldn't want it any other way. Jessica texted me to say that Ryan ran to Nicholas to say hi this afternoon and just to see how everyone gets along and loves each other is special and amazing.
* I am thankful for my random kisses. Jalen's started randomly giving me kisses and it's the best feeling in the world. I wouldn't know what to do without my Jalen. The things he says amaze me on a daily basis (sometimes, minute basis).
* I am thankful for this beautiful weather. Yay! It's summertime. It's pool time. It's beach time. Yay! I love the summer and I would be content if summer was all year long. :)
* In just a few weeks we will be beach bound for a week and I am oh-so-happy!!

I am thankful for the life God has given me..

I will post pictures. I'm in the process of copying them all over and finding cords to upload easier!!

Out of the mouths of Moms!

OutOfTheMouthsOfMoms_FULL

The things that we mothers (and aunts, teachers, grandmothers) say to children each day are some of life’s best comedy. On one of the blogs that I read, Mckmama, started a new idea by the name of "out of the mouths of moms." So here we go for this week...

* "Jalen, please do not run with a screwdriver in your mouth."
* "No, bug spray does not clean the windows like Mommy."
* "You have to stay with Mommy, you can't run away, someone will take you."
* (hiding in the bathroom trying to pee in peace) "No, Mommy isn't here right now, she went to the store..." "But I can hear you!" "I don't know, Jalen."
* "Scissors are dangerous, you can't run with them."
* "Please sit down in the cart, so you do not bust your head open."

Thankful Tuesday

* What a wonderful vacation we had! Jalen, Nicholas, and I went to Great Wolf Lodge in Charlotte. It was a great trip and couldn't of asked for a better time. The place is huge and would recommend it to everyone. The water park is unbelieveable. It has a wave pool, a house with a ton of water hoses, slides, and more, a kids area with really cool jet-skis that Jalen loved and slides for little kids, slides that are absolutely huge and sometimes scary, and an outside part that was nice. On site we were able to do, a Build-A-Bear, putt-putt, arcade games, story time, decorate a shirt, and get a tattoo. On the way out, Jalen devoured some ice cream. They even have a Dunkin Donuts inside. :) What a great time.. In addition, we were able to spend time with Kia and Brandon, which was a lot of fun. I am thankful for a wonderful time...
* I am thankful Jalen is just fine. While we were in Charlotte, Jalen had to go to the Urgent Care to get some medicine for a little problem we encountered. If that was not enough, he banged his head on concrete and scared us both half-to-death. Thank God he was just fine and didn't even have a knot, and he hit hard!
* I am thankful for my family. I am thankful for the people I love to be around and spend my life with. I am thankful I have Nicholas. I am thankful for my life. Remember to never take a moment for granted.
* I am thankful for my Dad who stepped in when watching Izzy. The dog even got a bacon wrapped filet while we were gone. Now, who's spoiled?!

-- I am praying for Izzy tomorrow though. She gets fixed and I pray everything goes smoothly and she recovers quickly. She's such a part of our family now.
