Happy 60th Birthday, Dad!

Dad:

Happy 60th Birthday, Dad. You are an amazing individual who I am so blessed and proud to have in my life. Not only are you my Dad, but you are my best friend. Most people can't say that about their parent, but I am so glad I can! No matter what, even when might of disagree, you are there for me and my family. You've never let us down and you've always done your best to make sure we were happy and taken care of.

Every moment we've spent togther has been one I'll never forget, from our many trips to Hickory and stopping for cookies along the way to eating lunch together at work and just talking about any and everything to fishing at the lake with the boys and Bear. I never imagined I'd be digging for worms, hooking them on hooks, and helping the kids fish (or telling them I'll show em' how it is done!) though. Dad, thank you for being the most amazing Grandpa ever! Jalen and the rest of the kids love you so much and you can see it in their eyes every time we're with you or talk about you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Thank you for everything you've ever done for me. I will never be able to truly repay you, but know that I love you and I'm so thankful that you're in our lives. I will always be your baby (even though my sisters might hate me for it sometimes)! I hope you have a great day and enjoy everything ahead of you. Can't wait to spend time at the beach house and make more memories that we'll never forget.

Love you, Dad!

Pullen Park

We had a birthday party today at Pullen and we had a great time. Our friends, Ms. Jessica and Alanna went with Jalen, Brooklyn, and I. We rode the carousel, fed the ducks and to our amazement, catfish, and went on the boats. The kids had a blast and so did I. I love being able to do fun things on the weekend since I feel like I miss so much during the week.

Easter Cooking Class

Jalen had cooking class this morning and had a lot of fun. They made cheese fritters with eggs and cheese. They were actually really light and good. Jalen liked them, despite him saying how nasty they were going to be and he did not want to try. Then they dyed eggs. We will definitely be using their method again, rather than the kits. He said he wants to have a cooking class party this year. We will see!!

Monster Jam

Last night we went to Monster Jam and Jalen loved it. In the very beginning one flipped which was pretty neat, after realizing the driver was ok! He had a lot of fun and was worn out after.

School

Jalen has been doing very well in school and I couldn't be prouder of him for all the effort he puts in. He's willing to try anything new and is eager to learn. His spelling is coming along great and he loves math!! Math is definitely his strong subject. He enjoys taking picture walks through books and picked up his BOB books last night. He's not confident enough yet to read his other readers he has but he's doing well. He sounds out words and even brags when he can spell a new word. Last night he said he would re-do his assignment because he put Mom. I said it was ok! He said I really can do it again, I know how to spell Mommy. He's such a joy. I love looking at his assignments from school and they talk about mommy and daddy.
