Charlotte (3/5-3/7)

In the beginning of March we headed to Charlotte and enjoyed a Bobcats game, found IKEA (which I probably did NOT need to find), and just enjoyed seeing the sites of Charlotte.. It was a great time and we all had a blast!

Love, Sweet Love...

While I was getting ready for work the other day, Jalen and I were downstairs. He turned on the CD player and an old CD was in there... 'what the world needs now, is love, sweet love...' Jalen loves to dance, so I stopped whatever unimportant something I was doing and picked him up. I started dancing around like a crazy person with him in my arms and he was laughing and smiling from ear to ear. The music was blaring and if someone saw us, they'd probably wonder what we were doing. But, that will be something I never forget because his smile was amazing..

Sometimes the things in the moment that seem important, aren't really important. Sometimes being 5 minutes late for work isn't such a big deal because you were able to see the most important person in your life smile from ear to ear... It's the simple things in life that matter the most!

Amazement

It's no lie that Jalen is my world.. he's my world and my entire life and without him, I have no clue where I'd be or if I'd still be here.. It's amazing to me how much one little boy can change your life so much. When I found out I was having a baby (at the age of 17), I was scared to death. I had no clue where to turn (or where to run!). Instead, I ran to my sister while she was at work and told her the news by showing her some beautiful ultrasound pictures that I had taken earlier in the day. I remember her holding me in her arms and me hoping she'd never let go. I can tell you I still feel her arms around me every day, but along with my entire family. There's not a day that goes by that I do not take a step back in amazement of the love of my family and for that I thank God every day...

Thankful Tuesday

What a great week it's been! I am in awe of how blessed I am and how lucky I am to have Him by my side. I can't tell you enough how many times I look around and wonder why?! Why was I chosen to be blessed with a family who accepts me with arms wide open and friends who will be there for me through anything?

* I am thankful for a fun, restful, and enjoyable weekend in Charlotte. Friday night Nicholas and I had a little break and went to the Bobcats game. It was lots of fun, but I did miss my little booger. Then, we found IKEA and that speaks for itself...
* I was able to have a wonderful dinner with my Dad tonight. Usually I do these posts ahead of time, but because I'm delayed, I get to add this to this weeks. We always have great dinners but tonight we had great conversation, Jalen was content, and we were able to just enjoy the moment!
* Jalen is so smart.. He counted to 20 for me and said his ABCs.. How I love his preschool because they are so great with him! (Note: We work with him too but they are wonderful there!)

I am THANKFUL and BLESSED :)

I Love My Family

Thankful Tuesday!

Wow, I survived this week, and for that I am thankful..

- I am thankful that I am starting to get in the groove of my new job and starting to like the constant schedule.. I will like it a lot more when I don't have school after work, that kinda sucks!
- I am thankful Spring is coming. Jalen was able to play in the backyard for a little bit this past weekend. He dug in the dirt and got all muddy, was climbing trees, and messing around, so there is no telling what he'll be like this spring.
- I am thankful that we've had Cherish for as long as we've had. She's been so nice to have around and Jalen has truly loved having her. We looked at puppies again, so we'll see soon -- above is a picture of Jalen with one he loved..Barcode is what his name was because he had a white stripe on his neck.
- I am thankful for living in such a great place.. The earth quake in Chili is so sad, along with Haiti. We are so blessed and lucky to have what we have..

I am thankful for such a great life with great people!

Not My Child! Monday

-- My child did not stop sleeping! He goes to bed now around 8, but definitely by 9 because he wakes up between 7 and 8, if we are lucky.. My child knows how to sleep, so this is not my child...!
-- My child did not fall off a bar stool, do a complete flip in the air, and proceed to land on his head... Yes, my child did not scare the crap out of me and make me run to him in tears within 2 seconds because I thought he was seriously hurt. (Note: He is okay, he just has a bruise on his head.)
-- My child did not start just walking out the door. He does not just open the door and proceed to walk out..

I could go on and on, but needless to say, he was just not my child this week! He was cRaZy!!
