He DID IT!

This past week Jalen recognized all 26 letters of the alphabet! We are so proud of him. He's is determined to learn and it makes me so happy. He loves school and loves learning. My goal is to keep him this way!

My Little Boy...

is growing up so fast!

It's hard to believe that you're almost six years old.
When I saw you for the first time,
I finally knew what it felt like to fall in love.
When I felt you move for the first time,
I knew you were going to keep me busy!
When I held you for the first time,
I knew that I would love and protect you for the rest of my life.
When I saw you smile for the first time,
you made me realize that it is the simple things in life that mean the most.
When I saw you take your first steps,
I knew you would make me proud wherever those feet took you!
When I saw you walk into preschool for the first time,
I knew you would be the bravest person I know.
When I saw you play soccer for the first time,
I knew that you would try anything.

When I see you every day,
you make me very proud.
I'm blessed to be your Mommy!

Pullen Park

We enjoyed a fun Sunday at Pullen Park. It was Nick's first time being there since they remodeled everything. It was a perfect day. The kids loved riding all of the rides. Jalen convinced us to do the pedal boats. Yes, it looks so peaceful as everyone is out there on the water, but when you're out there, it is a lot of work. We did one complete lap around the lake and then headed back in. I can feel it in my legs. It is harder than it looks. Brooklyn loved running around and feeding the ducks.

Choo-Choo...All Aboard!

Climbing fun! Word to the wise...don't let them go to the top, unless you know they can get down.

"Push me, Uncle!"

"C'mon Li, get on with us. It'll be fun!"

Take Steps for Crohns

On Saturday, we participated in the Take Steps for Crohn's walk! Our team, Jones' Crohnies, raised over $1300 for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. This year Lindsay raffled off a wreath and work and Jessica, Dad, and I particpated in a bake sale at Robins & Morton. It is always a fun time to raise money for such a great cause! We're so blessed that Dad's Crohns' is under control. God is good! Thank you to all of our friends and family who donated. A grand total will come in the next week or so once it is all processed...

Kite Flyin' Time...

The other weekend we went to Grandma's house. We bought Jalen a Star Wars kite and he had a blast with it. He is really good at flying it. He got it stuck in the big tree and I had to work it out without ripping it. He had a great time running around and making the kite fly, with out without wind. If there was no wind, he would run around and make wind to see it fly.

Lost Teeth!

Jalen lost his first tooth! It was very loose and then the last time he touched it, it just fell out! I wish I could say that is what happened to the other three, but nope! He had to have 3 other teeth on the bottom extracted on the 20th. Poor buddy! He did really well and I couldn't be any prouder of him. He told me when he was getting in the shower that he just didn't think it was a good idea to go back to a dentist. Pictures of his smile with minus four teeth will come once the swelling and all goes down!
