Happy Birthday, Dad!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Dad:

I have to say that I am very proud to call you my Dad and be your daughter. No matter what is going on or what I've gotten myself into, I know that you will always be there. I appreciate every single thing that you do and I know sometimes I do not do the best job of letting you know how much I appreciate it, but know that I do. Thank you for always being there. Thank you for all of your lessons. Thank you for showing me what love is. Thank you for being the best of the best and never giving up on me. Thank you for always listening. Thank you for being you. God has truly blessed us with you in our lives. I hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Love, Lyss

Jalen's Sale!

I have to say at this moment I am a very proud Mommy with tears in her eyes. Jalen looked in the refrigerator and said that he needed more lemonade! I said that we could get some. He said 'and cups, too!' I said that we had plenty. He went on to tell me that he was going to have a lemonade sale and had to find the perfect spot. He has to 'serve the customers' too! I said he could use his money to buy something at Target or give it to Grandpa or do whatever he wanted. After we talked about it, he decided that he is going to give his money to Grandpa! Therefore, in the near future, Jalen will be having a lemonade stand to support Jones' Crohnies!

I will post details soon, so that you can stop by and buy a cup from Jalen, if you would like. :)

Jones Crohnies!

Join us, the Jones' Crohnies, in the fight against Crohn's and Colitis! We can do this!!
My personal goal is $250 with the team goal being $1500..

Help us find a cure!

We're not lucky..

...We are BLESSED!
Thank you for continuing to check out this blog and being a part of our lives. We have so many people in our lives that mean the world to us that it is amazing. God has blessed us more than we ever deserve and we thank Him for all that He has given us! Therefore, that is why we are not lucky, but blessed.

Hope everyone has a fantastic St. Patrick's Day. We made corned beef last night for dinner. I had never had it until I sampled it at Trader Joe's when we went to get pizza stuff and it was good, Jalen even ate it. So, though it killed me to buy full-price meat, I bought it and have to say it was good! Here's to me branching out.. haha!

Off to Grandma's House!

Last week we went to my Mom's house for a couple of days and enjoyed every minute of it. It was nice hanging out with my Mom, waking up to my favorite little people, and just relaxing! We were able to visit two new places this time... Swansboro and New Bern. They both had neat little waterfront shops with little handmade or just neat things inside of them. We didn't buy a lot, but enjoyed walking around and laughing. I'm sure many people enjoyed laughing at us trying to get in and out of stores with strollers and two boys that are just crazy when they are together no matter where we are. We had lots of fun and enjoyed our time together. Hopefully next time it will be warm and we can go swimming, on the boat, and the beach -- wishful thinking, I guess!

J-A-L-E-N!

I have been working with Jalen on spelling his name and he has gotten it. I couldn't be any prouder of him. He is working hard in his own little way. He has an attention span of about 2 minutes unless you are doing a hands-on fun activity. In order to help him learn to spell his name, recognize the letters, and put it all together, we baked JALEN cookies. What fun it was and how rewarding it is to hear him spell his name. He had a blast and enjoyed putting frosting all over his!

Note the shirt, please! GO PIRATES! He knows it is Mommy's school. When we were driving to my Mom's he saw a billboard with ECU on it and he said "hurry, look!! It's your school." Smart boy!

New Bike!

Growing up too fast....

Jalen was having trouble riding his bike. I thought at one point it was just laziness, but then I thought that maybe his Thomas bike had just gotten too small. We went to Target and found the perfect blue bike. It took Nick and I about a hour or so to put together and a few arguments in between, but we got it. Ha! Jalen put on his new helmet and took off. We got half-way around the block when the bottom fell out and we hurried home. He is really enjoying it and it is hard to believe how fast he's growing up.
