Sheen Maternity Shoot

The Sheens had their maternity pictures today and I had a great time shooting them. Taking pictures is one of my favorite things to do! We were supposed to take pictures at Lake Pine and quickly realized that a lake with no water wasn't going to be pretty. Apparently, they drained the lake for some reason! We made an impromptu decision to go to Bond Lake. It was a great choice! Below are a few pictures from today's session!

Happy Birthday, Brooklyn!

Yesterday Brooklyn turned 3. It is so hard for me to believe that she is 3 years old. She acts so mature for her age, that I feel like she should be turning 4 or 5, despite me not wanting her to be that old. She's one of the funniest kids I know. She's the only one who will look at you and say 'can you please stop being weird?' as she rolls her eyes. She's the only three year old I know who can swim and spell her name! We're so blessed to have you in our lives Bear. We love you! Happy Birthday!!!

7th Birthday Party

This year we went to the Cary Aquatic Center for Jalen's birthday party and we had a blast! All of the kids and parents seemed to have a great time. We rented the pool for an hour and a party room for another hour. The whole hour in the pool, the kids swam, swam, and swam! They went home tired, that's for sure. Thank you to everyone who came! We are so blessed to be surrounded by wonderful people. 

Happy 7th Birthday, Jalen!

It is hard to believe that my baby is 7 years old today. Where does time go? I have to say that in 7 years this little boy has changed my life dramatically and there isn't a single moment with him that I would trade.

It's hard for Mommy to believe that you're 7 years old today. It seems like just yesterday we were driving to the hospital and holding you for the first time. It seems like just yesterday we were laughing and playing with that big afro of hair you used to have. It seems like just yesterday we saw you take your first steps and now you're getting ready to start football. Where does time go!? I have to say that I am extremely proud of you. I've never seen someone who can do what you do. You make everyone in a room laugh and smile. You make everyone feel loved. You never are mean to anyone and are always trying to make sure people are okay. You have fun in any situation you are in. You take on new challenges like they are nothing. You are successful. You are smart. You are amazing and I am so proud to call you my son! I hope you know that no matter what Mommy will be there and I am looking forward to this next year. We have so many exciting things planned and I am sure there will be many fun adventures waiting for us that aren't planned. I love you, Jalen. I couldn't be prouder of you.
