Family Beach Trip

We went for our annual beach trip this past week and what a GREAT time we had. The best day was when we went to Bald Head Island and rode a golf cart around all day. The week with everyone made us realize how quiet our house was and how much a blessing each one of the kids is. I look forward to this trip each year and after a week, I was sad to leave.

Horses

Jalen's PreK teacher, Mrs. Teri, has 3 horses. She is so sweet and invited us and all the kids over to ride. The kids had a blast! I thought they would be scared, but they weren't at all. All of the kids, including Gavin, wanted to touch, feed, and ride them. It was hot, but an adventure that I'm so blessed we were able to take!!

Fishing on the Boat!

I can't believe that I am behind on publishing this post. This has to be one of the funniest adventures we've ever been on. We had all bought Dad a canoe for Christmas. We decided to take it out and so I went and got all the kids and Dad, Nick, and I were going to take them out. The first time out was very successful. It was Dad and I will all of the kids. Then, the kids needed a snack, so I went and got them snacks. When I returned I said I would stay back with Brooklyn and Ryan and Dad, Nick, and Jalen could go out. They boarded the boat and got about 30 feet out before I heared "woooaahh, woooahhhh, woooaaaa" *SPLASH*. Dad had reached to move the seat cushion and the weight wasn't evenly distributed and they flipped over. All you see is Dad, Jalen, and Nick just put their hands up and fall in. Jalen comes swimming up from the middle of the boat still holding his snacks. Nick comes up and Dad comes up from the opposite end. Nick and Jalen were seeing who could get in the boat the fastest, despite the fact it was filled with water because it felt so nasty. In the end, Nick lost his phone and a Rainbow flip-flop and Ryan, Brooklyn, and I had the show of a lifetime. I wish I had my video going. Ryan and Brooklyn both said "why are they swimming?" and "I'm glad we weren't on that boat." What a day!!

and this is what they looked like after they went swimming!!!

Jessica's Birthday Weekend

For Jessica's birthday (May 18), she wanted to go to the beach, so we headed to Dad's for the weekend. We spent time on the beach, playing outside, and just living the simple life. The kids love the beach and just being outside in general. Kenny and Kim were in town so we got to hang out with them.

On the way home we stopped at the Battleship. What a hot and claustrophobic adventure that was. The kids enjoyed climbing around, but tight spaces with 4 kids makes me paranoid and too hot! But, I can say that I've been to the Battleship and know what it is all about now. Jalen loved the guns!

Mother's Day Weekend

Mother's Day weekend we went to Myrtle Beach, just Nick, Jalen, and I. We had a great time and enjoyed spending time just the three of us. The weather cooperated with us and we were able to get some time on the beach and at the pool. One night we went to Joe's Crab Shack and played 2 rounds of putt-putt. Since it was before the "season," it wasn't as crowded. :-)

3 Months Too Long

It's been about 3 months since I posted and well, that is just too long. We've done so much in the past 3 months and I can't say exactly why I quit posting, but here's to trying to keep up with it again!
